About
Hi, I'm Deacon Bridgette!
Welcome to the table.
As an Old Catholic deacon and chef, I bring together my love of Catholic tradition with the wisdom gained from a lifetime in the culinary arts. My work is guided by the cries of the Earth, echoed in the global movement for food sovereignty and led by Indigenous peoples around the world.
At its deepest level, what the Church calls the Eucharist is a commitment to centering the gift of Life. To live this fully, we must place our relationship with food—our primary source of nourishment and energy—at the heart of our culture, society, and economy. The Catechism names the Eucharist as “the source and summit of the Christian life” (CCC 1334). When we honor physical nourishment, we simultaneously tend spiritual health, drawing closer to full communion with the Sacred. From this flow societies, cultures, and economies rooted in respect for all beings within an interconnected web of life.
I founded Axis Mundi Church to help American Christians rediscover a life-giving path within their own cultural and spiritual inheritance—one that orients tradition toward healing, inclusion, and renewal.
At the heart of the Catholic Eucharist is a vision of a peaceful, multicultural world that honors the Earth and liberates all beings. It is a powerful and enduring source of sustenance—one we are called to preserve, tend, and draw from together.
